Teams from Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s Development Directorate were present at the Top Logistics Europe Trade Show held in Saint Malo on 19th and 20th June.

Under a somewhat overcast sky, the American cruise liner Azamara Quest of the US cruise shipping line Azamara made a call at Nantes Cheviré on 14th June. Her 643 passengers served by a 387-strong crew were able to visit the City Centre and to go on excursions.

The annual general meeting of Nantes Ports Maritime Union (UMNP) was held on 6th June. An opportunity to gather together the Loire Estuary port and maritime community on the theme "Successfully Adapting on Corporate Social Responsibility Together".

Following the positive outcome of a trial multimodal transport operation at the ro-ro terminal at the end of 2023, 3 000 tonnes of granite arriving from Galicia via the Vigo‒Montoir shipping service are being regularly conveyed by train from the port installations at Montoir de Bretagne to the City of Lyon. This cargo, which previously travelled by road, is being used to refurbish the concourse of Lyon Part-Dieu railway station.

The production and use of hydrogen constitute an essential step in the decarbonization process at Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port. While this sector is at a less advanced stage than the offshore wind power sector, it is developing a structure, and the first large-scale projects should be fully operational by the end of the decade.

Appointed by Presidential Decree dated 19th April 2024, Jean-Rémy Villageois officially took up his post as Chair of the Management Board of Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port on Monday, 29th April 2024.
