Granting of a TOP and Issue of a New CEI

Solar Power

One part of the Port Authority’s new strategy initiated just a few weeks ago consists in developing port property income through energy-related projects.

In this way, following a call for expressions of interest (CEI), Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has granted the ENGIE Group a new temporary occupancy permit (TOP) relating to an area covering approximately 9 hectares. Located to the east and to the north of the Montoir de Bretagne LNG terminal, this zone is intended to accommodate two ground-based photovoltaic power plants. The work will begin in the first quarter of 2022 and the installations will be commissioned at the end of 2023.

Looking to a Third Project

Furthermore, as part of this same development dynamic, a second CEI was issued in November 2021 concerning a 13.5-hectare plot of land located west of the LNG terminal, to receive a new ground-based photovoltaic power plant project. Around 21 hectares of real estate, which are covered by the Montoir de Bretagne technological risk prevention plan (TRPP) and have been unoccupied up to now, will thereby be put to use for the purposes of these projects. Interested candidates have until 12 p.m. on 11th February 2022 to submit their dossier. Two site inspection sessions with potential candidates and the Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port team took place on 7th and 12th January.
