The European Offshore Wind Alliance Meets in London
At the end of January, the European Offshore Wind Alliance gathered together its members at the London office of Associated British Ports (ABP), as part of their ongoing collaboration to meet the challenges of energy transition through the development of offshore wind power and associated port infrastructures.
The Alliance represents seven of Europe’s leading ports and port groups specializing in offshore wind power, including Associated British Ports in the UK, Port Oostende in Belgium, Groningen Seaports / Eemshaven in the Netherlands, Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co KG Ports and Cuxhaven Port in Germany, Port Esbjerg in Denmark, the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority in Poland and Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port in France.
"This new meeting has once again shown that the Ports are fully committed to supporting projects aimed at ramping up the deployment of offshore wind power and industrial decarbonization," says Ludovic Bocquier, Head of the Energy Sector Business Unit, who was Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s representative at the meeting in London. "Cooperation between ports and between all the industrial players in the sector is essential if we are to achieve these objectives."
Involved in this Alliance since the start of 2023, Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has signed the joint declaration inviting all the Ports concerned to join forces in the deployment of offshore wind power.
