Work on the Joubert Sluice Dock
Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port is adapting its infrastructures to meet the need to accommodate large-sized vessels, and notably the cruise liners of the MSCWorldClass series, which are built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique Shipyard.
Two big work projects managed by Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port’s Engineering Directorate are nearing completion. Civil engineering work has been undertaken to permit the installation of new docking fenders and guide rollers. Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port has employed the services of the Océlian Company to carry out that operation. The fabricated structures accommodating the fenders installed in the outmost parts of the sluice dock are being made by the Les Coteaux production and maintenance workshops.
The Demathieu Bard Company is involved in carrying out the work to refurbish a 2 500 m² area of the base platform of the sluice dock, which has been damaged over the years by continual operation and by the successive filling and emptying of the sluice.
