At the beginning of September, Dutch shipowner and operator WEC Lines opened its new office in Nantes, an important step in the Company’s development.

Located at 16, Quai Ernest Renaud, in the heart of the City, the agency overlooks the River Loire, thereby enhancing its capacity to supervise all operations at the Port of Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire. Every week, a vessel belonging to the Shipping Line calls at the Montoir de Bretagne container terminal.

"We are delighted to be opening our new office in Nantes, France, a move that reflects our commitment to consolidating our short-sea and deep-sea operations in the French market," said Caesar Luikenaar, CEO of WEC Lines. "This expansion will enable us to better serve the local market and to offer a sustainable, fast and reliable alternative to road haulage in France, to and from the UK, Portugal and Spain. We aim to rapidly develop Montoir de Bretagne into a full-service port as part of our short-sea network offering all container types, including 45-foot HCPW and 45-foot reefer containers."

"WEC Lines’ decision to set up in Nantes is part of our aim to establish real expertise in our geographical zones, combined with a personal approach, and demonstrates our commitment to providing container transport solutions that are both frequent and environmentally friendly. The objective is to avoid road haulage wherever possible while working towards delivering a net-zero transport network by 2050."

Jean-Baptiste Perrin, Agency Manager, and Romane Cariou, Customer Service Supervisor, are there to listen to the needs of industrial shippers in Greater Western France. For more information on WEC Lines services: www.weclines.com or info.FR@weclines.com.
