Logistics

The major logistical manoeuvres linked to the creation of the offshore wind farm to be sited off the islands of Île d’Yeu and Noirmoutier (EMYN) are in full swing at the Saint Nazaire port facilities.

Following the unloading of the CTFs (mast pre-assembly supports), of the towers and of blades, more than half of the expected nacelles have already been received on Quai des Charbonniers quay in Saint Nazaire. These imposing industrial cargo consignments measuring over 10 metres high and 8 metres wide have made their way to the pre-assembly site via Avenue de Penhoët and Avenue Antoine Bourdelle. Carried out at night so as to minimize the impact on activities in the industrial and port activity zone, the transfer mobilized a large number of specialisms to ensure the meticulous coordination of the logistics involved. Between now and the summer, a total of 61 nacelles will be transported by special convoy on a route taking them around the dock basins.

The first voyages to the EMYN wind farm will start in the spring, with the installation vessel Vole au Vent.
