Meeting Scottish MRE Industry Professionals
From 12th to 15th March, ÉOLE Project Manager Philippe Léon and Marc Labégorre, the Technical Lead on the ÉOLE Project, took part in the learning expedition to Scotland organized by Pays de la Loire Regional Authority, Solutions&co, Scottish Development International and the French Consul General in Edinburgh & Glasgow.
Scotland has strong ambitions for energy decarbonization and is aiming to deliver 31 GW of offshore wind power by 2030. The adaptation of port installations is a key issue, echoing the ÉOLE Project being driven by Nantes ‒ Saint Nazaire Port.
Concentrating on the port and wind power markets in Scotland, in Aberdeen then in Inverness, this trip offered the players in the Loire Estuary’s MRE sector the chance to visit these ports that have historically focussed on the oil industry and are now developing their activities in the marine renewable energy sector.
